Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year Awards reaches further than ever

Tuesday 26th April saw the 5th annual Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year Awards take place at the Mall Galleries in London. A truly global affair with over 7000 images and films entered from across 60 countries, this prestigious award has a powerful, international reach.

Over 30,000 images have been submitted since the first Awards took place, but this year saw British photographer Mark Benham seize the title with a joyful shot of a baker having fun with flour while making bread. Benham was presented with the £5000 prize by Andy Macdonald, MD of Corego®, brand owner of Pink Lady® in the UK, who are the headline sponsor of the Awards. Mr. Macdonald also sits on the judging panel.

Andy Macdonald commented: “As ever, it was a phenomenally high standard, making the judges’ decision incredibly tough. We were delighted to present the trophy and prize to Mark for this wonderful photograph. He is only our second British winner in five years, and it reflects the truly international nature of the Awards.”

Pink Lady® is proud to have been the headline sponsor since the inception of the Awards, giving this already global brand a heightened reach amongst the international press. This year coverage was achieved across BBC World Service, MSN, BBC online, The Telegraph and London Evening Standard to name but a few here in the UK.

Other members of the judging panel this year, included David Loftus, Jamie Oliver’s photographer, Emily Luchetti, Chair of the James Beard Foundation, NYC and Curtis Stone, Australian culinary superstar.
