Own stand at Fruit Attraction

Spain: Kiwi Atlántico expects excellent quality this campaign

Kiwi Atlántico, Spain's largest kiwi producer and one of the largest in Europe, has arrived to the international fair Fruit Attraction with a very positive financial balance for the past year. For four consecutive years, the Galician company has registered a significant increase in its turnover. In 2015 alone, its production has increased by 20% and it has marketed over 8,500 tonnes of own production under the brand Kiwi Atlántico and another 11,000 from other origins under other brands.

Furthermore, as stated by the manager José Carlos Vila, "the outlook for the new campaign is positive." "We have increased our production with the introduction of new farms and fruit quality is excellent as a result of the alternation between gentle rainfall and warm days this year," said Vila. "The taste is great," he affirms.

Kiwi Atlántico will be present with its own stand at the international fair Fruit Attraction. It has arrived with a new image adapted to the marketing campaign "The freshest kiwis", which has been a big hit on social media for a few weeks now. The idea has been to transform kiwis into film characters and to use them in funny stop motion gags, which can be accessed through social media, such as the company's Facebook page.

Increased presence
Since its inception in 1988, Kiwi Atlántico has grown from a partnership between eight Galicians and one Asturian to having more than 70 partners and 20 associated producers, bringing together farms of various sizes. Additionally, the company has been present for more than 10 years in Bilbao with an association, Iparkiwi, working in partnership with the Basque cooperative Garaia, which markets the fruit produced in Cantabria, the Basque Country and Navarra. It also works with a distributor in Mercamadrid called Consorcio Hortofrutícola Ibérico, SL, which is specialised in the marketing of kiwis from any source and makes it possible to supply different customers with the products they demand.
