China: Botryosphaeria detected in Tianjin Port

During an inspection of imported apples from Japan at Tianjin port the Botryosphaeria fungus was detected. It is the first time that Botryosphaeria has been detected in Tianjin port. Besides Botryosphaeria, Pestalotiopsis and Burkholderia were also found.

Botryosphaeria is a parasite that can be found on fruit trees. It causes fruit rot and can damage fruit trees.
