NZ: Prevar appoints Commercial Manager

Snow Hardy has been appointed Commercial Manager for Prevar the company responsible for globally commercialising new apple and pear cultivars developed by the world renowned breeding program of Plant & Food Research. This breeding program has a long history of developing sensational new pipfruit cultivars sold
under the following brands such as Jazz™, Rockit™, Smitten™, Envy™ and the recently released Piqa™Boo™.

“The role that Prevar and new pipfruit cultivars in particular play for the Australian
and New Zealand pipfruit industry is something I am very passionate about. I have
seen first-hand the challenges growers face to remain viable in a very crowded and
competitive industry. I truly believe that Prevar has access to the best breeding
program anywhere in the world with Plant & Food Research. The ongoing challenge
is to maximise the full value of these cultivars for the benefit of Australian and New
Zealand growers and the greater industry. I am very excited to be taking up this
position as I believe there are many wonderful new selections in the pipeline! I am
looking forward to further developing relationships I have with many industry players
around the world,” says Snow.

Prevar CEO Brett Ennis welcomes Snow and says “I’m delighted to have Snow join
Prevar in this new role. New global licensing opportunities mean that Prevar requires
additional resources. Snow joins us with substantial industry experience and a global
network. His skills will bring significant capability to Prevar”
