Produce Mom features 'Eat Brighter!' on morning show

Lori Taylor, author of The Produce Mom® featured the ‘eat brighter!’ movement on Indy Style, Indianapolis’ only live lifestyle morning television show. ‘Eat brighter!’ is an industry-wide initiative to promote fresh produce to children through healthy messaging and consistent branding using Sesame Street characters.

Taylor, a regular contributor to Indy Style, showcased Nature Fresh™ Farms cucumbers and bell peppers and Naturipe berries, all of which use ‘eat brighter!’ packaging. Taylor demonstrated how to construct Sesame Street fruit and veggie trays using these produce items while discussing how this movement makes fruits and vegetables more appealing to children.

“Nature Fresh is incredibly excited to be part of the ‘eat brighter!’ campaign. The opportunity to connect with parents and children is something we have always been passionate about. In 2014, Nature Fresh Farms was recognized as The Produce Mom Partner of the Year for our efforts to connect with consumers and promote healthy living. ‘Eat brighter!’ is a natural fit for our company. We appreciate the support from our partner, The Produce Mom, to help us raise awareness of the industry-wide ‘eat brighter!’ campaign,” states Chris Veillon, Director of Marketing at Nature Fresh Farms.

Taylor also raised awareness of other movements happening within the fresh produce industry that encourage children to eat more fruits and vegetables, including Find Your Favorite®, the community outreach initiative of The Produce Mom and Indianapolis Fruit Company. The Find Your Favorite school show begins touring across Indiana this month as part of the Department of Education’s USDA Team Nutrition program. Testimonials from Find Your Favorite Heroes about the importance of consuming fresh produce will be followed with a fruit and vegetable sampling party.
