"Tjerk Nagel: "Unreasonable behaviour from creditors"

Konaxx Onions stops activities

Konaxx Onions is immediately stopping its activities. Director Tjerk Nagel informed our editorial office of this. The director already indicated in December that due to the Russian import embargo - where 60% of the turnover is gained - they had to let half of their employees go. The onion sorting and packaging station from Sint Jacobi Parochie (previously Meijer Ltd) has been active since 1917.

"Unreasonable behaviour by creditors has led to us focussing our time and energy on something else," says Tjerk. Konaxx mainly exported within Europe, with Scandinavia, Russia, Central Europe and the Baltic States as their main sales areas. Customers included supermarkets, wholesalers and processing companies. Besides onions the company supplies potatoes, cabbage, carrots, beets, turnips, tubers and leek.
