California Giant support kids nutrition in kitchen & back to school

As families across the country gear up for that back to school routine, California Giant stays focused on keeping kids engaged in ‘playing with their food’ in a good way. The company continues to step up its commitment to health and fitness focused activities for kids and families and new programs just launched are already seeing success.

Just in time for back to school, California Giant released a Back To School Survival Guide complete with a list of great tips for moms and ways to include California Giant berries as they get into packing lunches every day, or meals on the go for those days breakfast is eaten in the car or on the school bus, and lots of inspirational notes and ideas to tuck into that lunchbox for kids to be inspired by as they get back into a routine. The Guide will be offered on all company social media outlets and website for several weeks so consumers can instantly download and put the information to good use.

Last week the company also launched its new Kids Corner section on www.calgiant.com/kids-corner speaking directly to kids of all ages and providing them specific resources and tools to really enjoy health and fitness. A key component to the new section is the Junior Chefs page with six new videos featuring chefs working side by side with kids in the kitchen as they create delicious kid friendly recipes. Each recipe is prepared on camera and easy enough to make just from watching the video with a similar format to what might be seen on TV food shows. The full recipes can also be downloaded from the Junior Chef page to keep for future use. Another key feature of the Kids Corner section is a page called Fueled by Berries where kids and families can learn more about how to keep the body fueled while participating in sports activities or just playing outside. The company is using #poweredbyberries as a way to capture participation which was originally designed for the California Giant Cycling Team as they document their success on the bike enjoying California Giant berries.

These two new components serve as the platform for more programs and tools to come supporting health and fitness for kids featuring the California Giant brand of fresh berries. California Giant strongly believes in setting a strong foundation of healthy eating and exercise for young people so they build healthy habits that stay with them for a lifetime.
