LGV-Frischegemüse puts new PV installation into use

Austrian vegetable cooperation LGV-Frischegemüse and energy company Wien Energie have officially put into use a PV installation with a peak power of 300 kilowatts on the roof of the LGV headquarters in Vienna Simmering, German website Gabot.de reports. Together with a second installation, which will be ready in the course of the year, and with a peak power of 575 kilowatts, the largest solar power station on a Vienna roof will thus be created. Both PV installations will power the sorting and cooling installations of Austria's largest supplier of vegetables.

Gerald König, director of LGV-Frischegemüse, is happy with the opening of the installation: "At LGV-Frischegemüse, we've been working on taking care of our energy needs in an environmentally friendly and sustainable way for years. Now, from our long-standing cooperation with Wien Energie, the largest PV installation on a Vienna roof arises, enabling us to produce a large part of the energy needed at our headquarters, from solar rays. For us, the new PV installation fits perfectly into our road to a fully durable vegetable value chain - for the sake of our growers and customers."
