Joey Deen, Denimpex:

"Sales of limes starting to pull up slowly"

Denimpex is now five months into marketing its line of Brazilian limes under the brand 'Bahia Frutos'. "Despite the disappointing price orientated market, we are very satisfied about the product," says Joey Deen. "We are sticking to our strategy, without an overlap of older parties that are stuck for longer periods, so that the customers are extremely satisfied with the quality of the limes and can sell them easily. This means we clean out every week and can constantly supply our customers with fresh limes."

"We can see that the sales of limes are starting to pull up and the prices are rising. This is due to less shipments from Brazil, and Mexico not yet being in production. And what the Mexicans do have available, they are sending to the US, which means that there are almost no Mexican limes available in Europe. The summer season is also beginning in many countries, so there is more demand for limes to put in cocktails and other exotic drinks," continues Joey.

"The limes that have arrived so far have still been a lovely deep green colour, despite being picked during the rain that has plagued this part of Brazil, which usually results in lighter fruit. This shows that in collaboration with our packaging station we are able to present constant high quality that all customers can be satisfied with by carefully packaging and selecting fruit."

"To lift our fruit to an even higher level we decided to package the fruit in a new box and to sell it under the brand 'Delicio Frutas, Delicious Fresh Limes'. With this brand we hope to not just guarantee customers exclusivity, but also lift the presentation to an even higher level.
The first container under the brand 'Delicio Frutas' will arrive in Rotterdam over the course of week 14," says Joey enthusiastically.

"Due to weekly arrivals we are able to offer customers stability and provide them with their needs every week. Weekly supermarket deliveries are also something we are ready for, as all limes tested for residue are well within the strict standards set by the well known larger retailers."
