Lorre moves to warehouse 19 in EC Brussels

Lorre NV was founded four years ago. The company rented a warehouse in the European import centre in Brussels from Van Lier and at the moment, owner Laurent La Morella has been at the new location, warehouse 19, for a few weeks now, "I had been looking for something new for a while and when I knew this place had an opening, I applied immediately. Moving has gone without a hitch and has been received positively by our customer. It's a very 'lively' corner. We now have a lot more space than before, 250 square metres in total," Laurent says enthusiastically.

Presentation
With this new space we can now present our products much better and more extensively," he continues. "This way customers can take their time looking around. With a bigger warehouse I can keep more stores, and so buy more. This could be more interesting in the area of price for some products. It also means that I could put my own name above the company. It used to say Van Lier. It's confusing. All in all I'm very happy with this place."

Nuts and dried fruits
Lorre NV is specialised in supplying nuts, dried fruits and various specialities such as mini shiitakes and dried mushrooms. "The nuts are packaged by Dry Top. Dates and figs take up an important place in the range. They are from King Solomon and Mehadrin, that way we can supply Medjoul dates all year round. The South-African season of Medjoul dates will start at the end of April. I expect a good season. A lot of these products are always consumed during the Ramadan."Laurent isn't ruling out that company will extend even further in the future. "I believe it's important to supply good quality products. This is how we define ourselves."

He has been active in the sector for years. First in fruit and vegetables, and then he became interested in nuts and dried fruits. "It's fun working with your passion. There are all kinds of things that have to be organised: from purchasing to making programmes. I learn something new every day. Time flies. It's a great thing to do!"
