Coop: green light for Marché Switzerland takeover

The Swiss trading giant Coop has been given the green light to takeover the Marché restaurants in Switzerland, by the Swiss competition commission, reports the Swiss newspaper 'Neue Zürcher Zeitung' on their website. The acquisition was announced earlier this year. The group are pleased with this positive outcome.

This takeover, announced last week, sees Coop expand their proficiency into the catering sector. Marché Switzerland consists of eateries alongside motorways all over Switzerland and at Zurich airport. Until now the company was part of Mövenpick Holding.

In 2012 the company achieved a turnover of nearly 120 million Swiss francs (98 million Euro). Coop will take on all current employees.
