Omsk potato exports to Kazakhstan rise 36 percent in 2025

From 9 January to 3 December 2025, Omsk Region authorities, together with specialists from the Omsk branch of the Federal Center for Agricultural Quality, inspected and cleared for export more than 21,000 tonnes of locally grown potatoes, Rosselkhoznadzor reports.

The bulk of exports consisted of table potatoes (21,100 tonnes), while seed potato shipments accounted for 620 tonnes. All consignments met the phytosanitary requirements of importing countries and were accompanied by the necessary documents.

Kazakhstan remains the main export destination, receiving 96.2% of total shipments, 20,900 tonnes supported by 883 phytosanitary certificates. Additionally, 730 tonnes were exported to Uzbekistan (33 certificates) and 80 tonnes to Kyrgyzstan.

Compared to the same period in 2024, when 15,900 tonnes were exported, the Omsk Region has seen a year-on-year increase of more than 36% in potato exports.
