The State Tax Service of Kyrgyzstan has updated the list of goods subject to VAT based on a fixed tax base, identifying items with potential risk. The revision reflects feedback from businesses importing products from the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
Under the updated list, the VAT base for imported onions has been reduced from 30.2 KGS per kilogram to 10.41 KGS per kilogram, a decrease of 65.5%. This adjustment is expected to lower the retail price of onions.
Similarly, the VAT base for leeks and other allium vegetables was cut from 96.7 KGS to 21.7 KGS per kilogram (−77.6%).
Other socially important products, including potatoes, carrots, cabbage, garlic, cucumbers, eggplants, berries, and fruits, remain unchanged, with both old and new VAT bases consistent.
