Ukraine’s CFG finishes 2.100 hectare potato harvest

Continental Farmers Group, one of Ukraine's larger potato growers, has finished its 2025 potato harvest across more than 2.1 thousand hectares in the Lviv and Ternopil regions, according to agronews.ua. The company harvested 1,270 hectares for chip varieties, 496 hectares for food potatoes, and 356 hectares for seed production.

Andriy Bednarsky, head of the Potato cluster at Continental, described the 2025 season as atypical. He stated, "On our part, we provided thorough planning, careful organization of processes, and consistently high quality of work. At the same time, the volume of gross potato yield this year exceeded the planned indicators by an average of 18%. Therefore, during harvesting, we had to redistribute the load on our storage facilities. The team successfully coped with all the challenges and maintained the necessary quality standards of the products."

The company reported that the 2025 harvest was also notable for an update of machinery and equipment used in the field. Continental deployed a third-generation potato harvester, described as the most modern in Ukraine. The unit was used throughout the harvest, and the company stated it operated efficiently. This investment was part of Continental's broader plan to upgrade production facilities and adopt practices aligned with global standards.

Continental is also preparing fields for the next cycle. The potato crop is expected to occupy a similar share of the 2026 rotation, at about 2.1 thousand hectares. In parallel with potato field preparation, the company is completing the threshing of late-group grain crops.

The company indicated that its combination of planning, equipment upgrades, and adjustments during harvest allowed it to maintain product quality while handling volumes that exceeded expectations. The focus now shifts to storage, crop rotation planning, and ongoing field work ahead of the 2026 season.
