The euro area annual inflation rate was 2.1% in October 2025, down from 2.2% in September. One year earlier, the rate was 2.0%. In the European Union, annual inflation reached 2.5% in October 2025, compared with 2.6% in September and 2.3% a year earlier. The data was published by Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union.

The lowest annual inflation rates were recorded in Cyprus (0.2%), France (0.8%), and Italy (1.3%). Romania (8.4%), Estonia (4.5%), and Latvia (4.3%) registered the highest rates. Compared with September 2025, annual inflation decreased in fifteen Member States, remained unchanged in three, and increased in nine.

In October 2025, services contributed the most to the annual euro area inflation rate at +1.54 percentage points. Food, alcohol, and tobacco contributed +0.48 percentage points, followed by non-energy industrial goods at +0.16 percentage points. Energy had a negative contribution of -0.08 percentage points.
