The Administrative Committee for Pistachios has released its October 2025 shipment report, reflecting the second month of the 2025/26 crop year. Pistachio production follows an on-year/off-year cycle, and 2025/26 is an on-year with higher volumes. All figures are reported on an in-shell-equivalent basis.
October 2025 shipments totaled 146.1 million pounds, an increase of 21.9 per cent compared with October 2024 and 42.4 per cent above the five-year average. Export shipments rose 24.6 per cent year over year, while domestic shipments increased 13.4 per cent.

Compared with the prior year in 2023/24, domestic shipments in October were up 14.0 per cent, and exports grew 13.1 per cent. Against the five-year average, domestic shipments increased 25.1 per cent and exports 48.7 per cent.
Cumulative shipments for September through October reached 223.1 million pounds, up 19.8 per cent from the same period in 2024/25 and 29.4 per cent above the five-year average. Export shipments for the first two months rose 24.6 per cent year over year, and domestic shipments increased 9.3 per cent.

Receipts through October reflect the pattern of the on-year cycle. Cumulative receipts reached 1.57 billion pounds, up 461.5 million pounds from 2024/25, an increase of 41.6 per cent. Compared with the prior on-year (2023/24), when receipts were 1.49 billion pounds, current-season receipts are higher by 81.0 million pounds, or 5.4 per cent.
Industry expectations for the final 2025 crop have adjusted to 1.55–1.6 billion pounds, compared with earlier estimates of 1.6–1.8 billion pounds. Even at the lower range, production would remain at record levels and ease earlier supply concerns. Market sources have noted potential quality risks in the final portion of the crop after above-average rainfall in California during September and October, which may affect later-harvested nuts.
The data reflects the biennial nature of pistachio orchards and ongoing maturation of California acreage, with the 2025/26 season tracking above the previous on-year.
