Zespri raises 2025 forecast on strong kiwifruit demand

Zespri has issued its November forecast for the 2025/26 kiwifruit season, reporting higher per-tray return estimates for all fruit groups compared with its August forecast. The company said returns for Green, Organic Green, and Organic SunGold now exceed the upper end of the earlier forecast range. At a per-hectare level, record returns are currently projected across all categories.

Chief executive Jason Te Brake said the season has been supported by a crop of 215 million trays from New Zealand supplied to markets worldwide. He noted that demand for kiwifruit has been strong in Europe and North America and said forecast returns reflect this demand, along with lower marketing expenditure and favourable foreign exchange conditions.

Te Brake said the remaining weeks of the New Zealand sales window will focus on completing the season and maintaining value for growers. Zespri plans to release its final forecast for the 2025/26 season in February.
