From January to September 2025, Uzbekistan exported 2,282 tonnes of lemons abroad, valued at $3.8 million. This represents an increase of 122.4 tonnes, or 5.7%, compared with the same period last year, according to the country's national statistics committee.
Russia remains the main importer, receiving 1,239 tonnes (54.3% of Uzbekistan's total lemon exports). Other major importers were Kazakhstan (930 tonnes) and Kyrgyzstan (107 tonnes). Additionally, Uzbekistan supplied 2.9 tonnes to the UAE, 1.8 tonnes to Mongolia, and 1.8 tonnes to other countries.
In April, amid a surge in the Russian lemon market, the Uzbek government approved a support program for the country's lemon industry and set forecast targets for lemon production and export in 2025–2026.
According to these forecasts, Uzbekistan plans to increase its lemon harvest to 72,500 tonnes next year (+8.3% compared to 2025 plans) and boost exports to 5,550 tonnes (+15%). To support export growth, the country plans to establish trading houses abroad, primarily in Russia.
