Spanish fresh fruit and vegetable exports to Germany and France, up to August, remained stable at 2.4 and 1.5 million tons, respectively. Exports to the third- and fourth-largest destination markets, the UK and the Netherlands, declined by 2% and 5%, respectively, but values increased across all markets.
Overall, Spanish fresh fruit and vegetable exports through August decreased by 2% to 8.2 million tons. The decline was due to stabilization in Germany and France, and to drops in the UK and the Netherlands, according to Customs data processed by Fepex.
The volume exported to Germany and France remained the same from 2024. Exports to the United Kingdom decreased by 2% to 903,068 tons, and shipments to the Netherlands decreased by 5% to 611,605 tons.
All the listed destinations saw value growth. Shipments to Germany reached 3,929 million euros (+11%), to France 2,100 million euros (+7%), to the UK 1,604 million euros (+3%), and to the Netherlands 999 million euros (+6%).
Spain exported a total of 6.9 million tons of fruits and vegetables to the EU, making up 84% of its overall exports. Outside the EU, exports declined by 5% to 1.3 million tons, with the United Kingdom being the main destination with 903,068 tons. Fepex notes that this reflects the limited opportunities available in non-European markets for the Spanish and EU sectors.
Fruit and vegetable exports totaled 13,074 million euros, up 8% from 2025. Of this, 10,725 million came from the EU (+9%), and 2,348 million euros came from outside the EU (+2%).
