Natexpo 2025 puts the spotlight on fruit and vegetables

The international trade fair for organic products, Natexpo, will return in less than 3 weeks. In 2025, the trade show is making a comeback at Porte de Versailles in Paris. Nearly 900 exhibitors and 12,000 trade visitors are expected. At a press conference last week, the organizers presented the highlights of this year's edition and gave an overview of the organic market.

Natexpo returns in a context that is "very positive for organic produce"
After a period of weakness, the organic market seems to be getting back on track, despite a complicated political and social context. According to the organizers, "the lights are green across the board." After a phase of stabilization in supply, the momentum is picking up again. More consumers are turning to organic food (in terms of the number of households buying), and demand is growing. "Despite a highly unfavorable context, the market is still dynamic and still generating enthusiasm. Additionally, this growth is not linked to inflation, but exclusively to the increase in frequency, which clearly reflects the enthusiasm of French consumers for other ways of consuming," explains Frédéric Faure, vice-president of the Biocoop cooperative.

The main source of concern is upstream: the net balance of AB installations is negative (Agence Bio warned of this phenomenon last month). This is worrying "because our models are based on exclusively French sourcing."

Fruit and vegetables, stars of Natexpo 2025
This year, fruit and vegetables will receive special attention. "We wanted to put the spotlight on a sector that has made a major contribution to the organic boom," explained Florence Roublot-Vadé of SPAS Organization at the press conference.

The big news this year is the creation of the Fruit and Vegetable Hub, as well as an entire day dedicated to the sector, to be held on November 30th. A dedicated area will bring together 20 exhibitors, including the fresh fruit and vegetable interprofession. The program includes events, conferences (positioning and value of organic fruit and vegetables: economic realities and customer expectations; climate change: what innovations are needed to adapt crops and supply? French origin vs imported products: issues of traceability, environmental impact and reassurance) and practical workshops for retailers, department managers and field teams, which will provide "keys to boosting sales and shelf appeal" (sales pitch kit & customer advice; consumer data & trends; enhancing shelf appeal and merchandising; highlighting forgotten or original varieties; anti-waste & surplus management; express training for teams; concrete examples of in-store promotions to inspire stores and boost sales).

The Natexpo Tchin-Tchin, a juice and smoothie bar, and the 'local store' operation will also offer mini-trainings dedicated to fruit and vegetable merchandising.

A day also dedicated to food service
Another day will be dedicated to the catering sector. "This is also a major area of development for the organic sector, and will take place on December 2nd. The program includes conferences at La Scène (structuring local supplies, increasing the proportion of organic produce in meals served in the catering sector, projections to 2035 for organic purchases in collective and commercial catering), speed-meetings (catering professionals to meet organic producers, processors and distributors), discovery tours and tastings that will punctuate this "strategic day designed to strengthen the presence of organic produce in professional kitchens, from canteens to gourmet restaurants." The day is being organized in partnership with Hôtellerie Restauration, Restauration 21, ZePros and Gault & Millau, as well as committed institutions such as Agence Bio, Interfel, Ecotable and Restau'Co. The Organic Catering trail will guide visitors through a targeted selection of exhibitors to facilitate exchanges and discoveries.

Morocco in the spotlight
Morocco will be the country in the spotlight this year. Some 20 companies will be exhibiting in a special area. "The aim is to highlight the richness of Morocco's local heritage and the sector's ambitions for development." This presence is supported by Maroc Bio (in charge of developing the Moroccan organic sector) and AMDI (Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development). A conference will be held on December 1st, entitled: "The Moroccan organic sector: assets, challenges and ambitions for the future," with a speech by Zineb Laghzaoui, president of the Maroc Bio interprofession.

International dimension
With 25% of exhibitors coming from abroad and 23 countries represented (Italy, Belgium, Germany, Spain, and the Netherlands being in the top 5), Natexpo aims to be an export accelerator for organic professionals. In order to support its international presence, Natexpo 2025 will feature: targeted communication campaigns to promote export opportunities, international pavilions showcasing the diversity of the organic sector, business meetings, in partnership with Business France, to connect exhibitors and international buyers (15 buyers from 8 countries: South Korea, Denmark, Spain, UAE, USA, Portugal, Romania and Sweden) as well as a team of international agents and a dedicated SPAS contact to support companies at every stage. In terms of visitors, no fewer than 68 countries will be represented, international visitors accounting for 14%.

Other highlights of the 2025 edition
More than 200 conferences will be held on topical issues, in-depth themes, and feedback. The traditional Natexpo Trophies will be celebrating their 20th anniversary this year, with a new category being introduced for the occasion - the "vegan" category - as well as a new "People's Favorite" award. Another highlight will be the Lab, which will become the "Label Lab" this year, a space dedicated to the start-ups and eco-entrepreneurs of tomorrow, with a pitch day and a special investor operation. Finally, "Natexpo Tchin-Tchin", a festive evening with drinks and musical entertainment, will take place on December 1st, and exhibitors will be offered coffee every morning before the show opens.

Natexpo exports to Italy
Natexpo is teaming up with Tuttofood, the Italian B2B trade show, to launch TUTTOBIO, a pavilion 100% dedicated to organic products and designed to highlight innovative brands. The pavilion will bring together organic companies and the Italian market. Every year, Tuttofood attracts some 95,000 visitors from 100 countries, including over 3,000 international buyers. With over 4,200 exhibitors and a strong international presence (25% foreign exhibitors), the show brings together importers, wholesalers, mass retailers, players in the HoReCa sector, and e-commerce platforms. The next edition will take place from May 11th to 14th, 2026.

Natexpo 2025 runs from November 30th to December 2nd, 2025, at the Parc des Expositions, Porte de Versailles, in Paris.
