The 2025 pomegranate and citrus season has been progressing very successfully, with strong demand from European markets, says Gökhan Gökoluk, sales representative of Turkish fresh produce exporter İşlek Group: "We're very pleased with how both the pomegranate as well as the citrus seasons are unfolding. European buyers have shown remarkable interest in our citrus products this year, and we're proud to see that our consistent focus on quality and service is being recognized across the market."

Gökoluk also noted that the Lamas lemon season is approaching, adding further momentum to the company's citrus operations. "We expect a strong season for Lamas lemons as well, supported by solid demand at the moment, and with excellent fruit quality. Compared to the previous season, the production levels of Mayer and Entordonat lemons are low, but the production levels of mandarins are higher than last year. The decrease in product volumes was caused by the frost. On top of that, the Turkish weather conditions caused the citrus season to start later than usual as well. When it did start, the trade kicked off rather slowly, mostly due to the lower available volumes. However, thankfully, there are no problems at the moment, and the season is running smoothly."

Looking ahead, İşlek is eagerly preparing for the W. Murcott season: "We will harvest W. Murcott mandarins from our very own orchards, which are all GlobalG.A.P. and BRC-certified, ensuring full traceability and compliance with international quality standards. The main export markets for our citrus products are Europe and the UK. Next month, together with Lamas lemons and W. Murcott mandarins, we will enter the Canadian and Far East markets as well," Gökoluk concludes.
