Fruit grower Mieczysław Socha from the village of Głazów in Poland has reported harvesting what is believed to be the largest apple ever grown in the country. The fruit of the Mutsu variety weighed more than 1.5 kilograms immediately after being picked, but later measured 1.327 kilograms once some water content had evaporated.

The weighing took place at a nearby fruit growers' facility, where the result was confirmed. According to Socha, the achievement was the result of focused orchard management practices. "I simply did my best to produce the largest and heaviest apple so that I could feel satisfied that I had achieved something in life. That was my goal. To grow such a huge apple," he told TVN24.
Socha explained that nutrients, watering, and irrigation were key factors in developing the large fruit. "Until the very end, it [the apple] was monitored and fed," he added.
The grower noted that his family was surprised by the outcome, as the orchard's trees had only been planted a year earlier. He has since submitted the apple to the Guinness Book of Records for verification.
