Aldi UK has unveiled a novelty "Jacket Potato Jacket" to coincide with the start of colder autumn weather and rising seasonal demand for jacket potatoes.
Developed in collaboration with London-based fashion house Agro Studio, known for designing pieces for artists such as Beyoncé and Lady Gaga, the limited-edition puffer jacket features a fleece lining and a potato-skin-inspired outer layer. The item will be available through a social media giveaway on Aldi's TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook channels.

The launch follows consumer research commissioned by Aldi, which surveyed 2,000 UK residents about their seasonal habits. The findings show that 82% of respondents are looking forward to autumn after an unusually hot summer, while 85% said that being cold is the least enjoyable aspect of the season. Around 40% identified October as the start of "jacket potato season," and 95% said they plan to embrace "cosy" activities such as cooking warming meals, taking walks, and spending more time indoors.
According to the survey, four in five respondents plan at least one "sofa day" this month, and 59% said they had adopted the Scandinavian concept of "hygge," associated with comfort and relaxation.
Aldi expects about 2 million individual ready-baked jacket potatoes, priced at £2.35 (US$2.97), to be sold in its stores across October and November.
