Entrepreneurial award for Den Berk Délice: "Ambitious plans in Belgium and Morocco"

Last week, Den Berk Délice received the Voka "Entrepreneurship Award 2025" for the Mechelen-Kempen region. The award recognizes not only strong entrepreneurship but also collaboration and teamwork.

Den Berk Délice started out as a partnership between four grower friends: Paul Van de Mierop, Koen Lauwerysen, Luc Beirinckx, and Hans Van Gool. The foundation for this grower group from the Kempen region was laid back in the 1990s, when four neighboring tomato growers in the Noorderkempen decided to join forces. Since 2014, they have been operating together under the name Den Berk Délice. What began as a friendship based on trust and a shared passion for growing has since evolved into one of the leading companies in the tomato sector.

Today, Den Berk Délice operates not only in Belgium but also in Morocco. At the start of 2025, Dutch investor Egeria joined the company, aiming to further support its professional growth and international expansion. The company now manages over 100 hectares of greenhouses and employs more than 1,000 people, including around 200 permanent staff.

Founder Luc Beirinckx explains that Den Berk Délice strives to be a model company in the horticultural sector. "With our ambitious plans in both Belgium and Morocco, we want to continue growing professionally, while keeping our focus on flavor, sustainability, and digital innovation," he says.
