Spring has arrived a week early in South Australia, with warmer days and some much-needed rain.

"The weather is not too bad at the moment. We have felt a temperature difference, and so have the crops. We are experiencing faster growth rates, especially over the past two weeks. The rain has been balanced with not too much falling.

"We have all our bunchlines and herbs in at the moment: Spinach, silverbeet, spring onions, radish, parsley, continental parsley, kale, radish, rosemary, dill, and beetroot. At this change of season, we are getting ready for summer, some products like the kale and dill are not ready, but the rest are doing well.

"Growing conditions have been very good, with ideal weather and a fair amount of rain, but demand at this time of year is very tricky as there is a lot of growth, so plenty of supply. This actually drops demand due to the market being flooded with produce. However, it's also the time of year when winter varieties finish, and there is a gap. We should see an increase in demand in late October."
