IFPA ANZ appoints Jo Crawford-Wynd as policy manager

The International Fresh Produce Association Australia and New Zealand (IFPA ANZ) has appointed government relations and communications specialist Jo Crawford-Wynd as its new Corporate Affairs and Policy Manager, effective August. She will lead the organisation's corporate affairs, policy, and advocacy efforts.

Crawford-Wynd brings extensive experience in advocacy, policy, and stakeholder engagement across government, not-for-profit, and corporate sectors. She has previously worked with the former Federal Minister for Agriculture and the Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development. Most recently, she led government relations at Bravery Trust, collaborating with the Deputy Prime Minister and the Governor-General to advocate through the Defence and Veterans Royal Commission.

Her career also includes partnerships with major stakeholders such as Coles and the AFL on public initiatives with broad social impact. Based in Gippsland and closely connected to the agricultural sector, she is committed to supporting growers and believes strongly in the role of fresh produce in preventative health.

In her new role, Crawford-Wynd will guide IFPA ANZ's corporate affairs and advocacy strategy. This will involve engagement with government and media, translating complex legislative and regulatory developments into actionable insights for members, and contributing to submissions, briefings, and policy positions that represent the sector's interests.

She will also collaborate with IFPA's global teams to expand international advocacy, ensuring efforts are responsive to regional priorities while aligning with global objectives.

IFPA ANZ Managing Director Belinda Wilson said Crawford-Wynd's skills would enhance the organisation's ability to represent the fresh produce and floral sectors effectively.

"Jo's advocacy and policy experience and her genuine passion for the industry make her a fantastic fit for our team," Wilson said. "She brings a powerful mix of insight, connection, and drive to ensure fresh produce is front and centre in policy conversations and public dialogue."
