Daltex’s agricultural expertise to boost potato farming in Uzbekistan

In Tashkent, Uzbekistan's Minister of Agriculture, Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov, met with Ahmed Al-Naggar, CEO of Egypt's Daltex Corporation, a major agri-industrial enterprise. The meeting focused on applying Egypt's experience in modern irrigation and desert land development to Uzbekistan's agricultural sector.

Particular interest was given to Daltex's success in potato farming. The company cultivates 45,000 hectares across 12 Egyptian regions and annually grows over 200,000 tonnes of potatoes, exporting to countries such as Germany and the UAE. It also produces 50,000 tonnes of citrus fruits and grapes, all certified for international markets and shipped to over 60 countries.

Both sides discussed joint projects in sustainable land and water management and agreed to explore introducing Egyptian potato-growing practices in Uzbekistan to boost domestic production and exports.
