The stone fruit season has recommenced at Staay Food Group. "Prior to the season, conditions were favorable with ample cold in the winter, plenty of sunlight, and relatively high temperatures moving into spring, a peaceful flowering period, and successful fruit set. All in all, the prerequisites for good volumes were in place," shares Nico Veldhoen. "In addition, our growers have invested heavily in modern and sustainable irrigation systems for the new, intensive plantings."

The season has now started with good quantities of nectarines, but with smaller volumes of peaches, plums, and cherries. "Peaches and cherries are currently experiencing a dip. With cherries, the later varieties are not aligning well with the early ones," Matthijs Vlasblom. observes. "However, we expect to start immediately with large volumes of Paraguayo peaches this coming week, and cherry volumes are also expected to increase next week. All in all, so far, nothing seems to stand in the way of a successful summer season."
