In the first quarter of 2024, Uzbekistan exported 375,300 tons of fruits and vegetables, totalling $219.8 million, as reported by the Uzbekistan State Statistics Agency.
Compared to the same period in 2023, this marks a significant increase of 72.5% in export volume and 20.7% in monetary value.
Notably, Pakistan emerged as the top destination with 79,100 tons worth $57.6 million, comprising 26.2% of the total exports. Following closely were Russia with 85,500 tons ($55.1 million), Kazakhstan with 86,100 tons ($23.0 million), and China with 25,900 tons ($20.2 million).
Analysing specific produce, grapes saw a decline of 55.7% in value, amounting to $4.7 million for 5100 tons. Conversely, cabbage saw a fourfold increase, reaching $22.2 million for 94000 tons. Onions surged, growing 18.3 times to $25.9 million for 103000 tons. However, tomatoes decreased by 23.6% to $8.7 million for 8000 tons, and cucumbers dropped by 8.3% to $1.7 million for 2000 tons. Carrots a robust 76.9% growth, totalling $7.2 million for 36700 tons.
