Rainfall benefits Huelva soft fruit

The Huelva Association of Strawberry Producers and Exporters, Freshuelva, highlighted the positive impact of Easter Week rainfall on the berry campaign's conclusion and the forthcoming planting season.

Rafael Domínguez, the manager of Freshuelva, noted the increased water levels in the province's swamps, beneficial for soft fruit, despite the current high humidity levels not favoring the strawberry crops in full production.

The concern for water scarcity was underscored by a demonstration on February 1, where Huelva's agricultural organizations demanded solutions for the water infrastructure deficiencies and the completion of pending dams, as outlined in the Hydrological Plan of the Guadalquivir hydrographic demarcation.
