Mystery creature strikes Jamaican banana farm, igniting fears of an invasive threat

In Lawrence Tavern, Jamaica, a family was alarmed when a mysterious creature stripped the bark from their banana trees, leaving the fruit and leaves untouched. This incident, reported on March 25, 2024, echoed a similar unsolved mystery from a decade ago in Cambridge, Jamaica, where banana trees were damaged in the same manner.

The farmer, Mavis Edwards, and her community are puzzled and concerned by the potential threat to their crops. The creature caused no harm to the fruit but left a distinct smell and fear of an invasive species endangering the banana industry.
