India lowers import duties for US cranberries and blueberries

In a move to bolster trade and enhance the availability of various goods, India has announced significant adjustments to its import duty structure, directly benefiting the importation of cranberries and blueberries. This decision underscores India's commitment to diversifying its market offerings and supporting the agricultural sector.

India's imports of US cranberries and blueberries are foreseen to increase this year by over 19 percent, reaching roughly 3,640 MT.

This policy adjustment aligns with India's broader economic strategies, aiming at market liberalization and fostering international trade relations. By making these commodities more competitively priced within the Indian market, the government anticipates a positive impact on consumer choice, agricultural diversity, and the strengthening of trade ties with exporting countries.
