activeIT provides insights into Production Control and Planning Tool PECS:

"Early detection of errors and efficiency Improvement"

With rising labor and production costs, the topic of efficiency improvement in personnel management is currently gaining importance, especially in the fruit and vegetable industry. This is precisely where the Styrian software company activeIT comes in with the PECS procedure (formerly traceNET Production). The innovative software system covers the entire personnel management, from job & personnel planning through time and activity recording to quality management, and is already successfully used by several users, for example in Germany and the Netherlands. At the first get-together on January 29 in the Dutch Westland, the expert team of the Styrian company provided insights into the PECS procedure through a presentation and live demo.

The pecsWELCOME module serves as the first point of contact for production workers before the start of work and displays the planned workstation after scanning the employee card or optionally through facial recognition. New employees or temporary workers can be quickly and easily registered in the system by scanning their personal documents and immediately and automatically receive their employee card. The integrated document management system also manages all work instructions, hygiene documents, or training materials for the respective employee in the required language.

Arrival and departure times of production workers can be quickly and easily registered via the pecsTIME module. With a clear interface and the ability to connect to any access system, pecsTIME enables effective management of working hours. In connection with pecsWELCOME, the user reduces the risk of unwanted buddy punching by employees. The higher accuracy of the recorded data always gives the user an overview and control over the respective production.

With pecsLINE, one is able to reduce the sources of error in production as well as the effort of setting up per work order. pecsLINE integrates the entire system environment, thus enabling central management and direct control. The immediate transmission of production-relevant data, such as machine settings, label data, or weight limits, increases the productive time of the respective facilities and employees and prevents sources of error.

The pecs procedure is completed with a special module for simple, efficient quality assessment, named pecsQUALITY. Through freely configurable questionnaires, checklists, and photo documentation, the user not only sets the time for a necessary quality assessment at, for example, goods receipt, picking, or inventory booking but also determines their validity period. The module automatically prompts for a new assessment after expiration.

After the live demo of the individual modules, PECS Consultant Christopher Immervoll provided insights into the previous results and especially the advantages of the system in practice. "Not only the clarity of the recorded data is important, but also the early detection of errors in the internal workflows. This significantly contributes to the improvement of these processes and efficiency enhancement in the work management at the respective company."

Gert van Geest has already had a long and impressive career in the fruit and vegetable industry. He has been representing activeIT as a consultant in the Benelux countries for several months.

Michael Kronheim works as a marketing and sales manager at the company and represents it at trade fairs and events both within and outside the DACH region.

Christopher Immervoll aides new and existing users as a consultant.

Company head Marko Klein (here in conversation with Marina Eicher from WKO) founded the company in 2004 and has specialized in the development of customized and practice-oriented software packages for the food sector.
