Avocado ripeness testing method launched for markets in Europe, Middle East, and Africa

As Apeel Sciences prepares to engage with the region's suppliers and retailers at this year’s Fruit Logistica in Berlin, it is announcing strategic developments designed to enhance partnerships and streamline operations throughout their markets in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).

The company is first introducing Will Ison as its new vice president commercial EMEA. Ison brings experience in international commercial sales, marketing, and grower relations, honed through his recent role as the senior commercial manager for G's Group in the UK & Ireland. His expertise in strategic sales processes and customer experience will enhance Apeel's partnerships with suppliers and retailers across EMEA.

Right: Will Ison

"I am thrilled to be part of a company that’s at the forefront of innovation in the fresh produce industry," said Ison. "Its mission to transform the supply chain through customer-friendly initiatives is not just inspiring but also a testament to its commitment to making a real difference."

RipeTrack is an AI-powered software system that offers insight into produce ripeness through a fully digitized, user-friendly platform.

RipeTrack
Apeel is also excited to share RipeTrack with the EMEA produce industry. This AI-powered software system offers insight into produce ripeness through a fully digitized, user-friendly platform. It enables instant determination of the ripeness and quality of produce with a growing suite of non-destructive tools, including a durometer it says is three times more accurate than industry standards.

This technology offers suppliers and retailers more insight into sales-driving quality attributes of their produce, resulting in more product delivered to required specifications and less product wasted.

Apeel is also incorporating simpler solutions into the everyday workflow of its partners. With a focus on efficiency, these advancements integrate within current supply chain operations. Key features of these enhancements include reduced setup times and a smaller footprint to meet the unique requirements of the EMEA market.

Apeel invites show attendees to visit their booth in Hall 25, Stand A-02. Visitors will have the opportunity to experience the RipeTrack system firsthand, meet Ison and learn more about how it simplified its processes and its benefits for the produce supply chain. Ryan Fink, the company’s senior vice president, commercial, will also speak about RipeTrack at the main Tech Talk stage at 3:00 pm on February 7.
