A man assaulted with a watermelon

A bizarre incident at a New Hampshire supermarket has police baffled after a person was reportedly attacked with a watermelon. The Tilton Police Department confirmed that they were called to the Market Basket on Market Street shortly after 6 p.m. on Thursday, where they found a customer who was assaulted with an oversized watermelon.

According to NBC10 Boston, the victim was rushed to the hospital for treatment for what were described as non-life-threatening injuries. Police are still trying to piece together what led to the unexpected assault.

No arrests have been made following the watermelon attack and the incident remains under active investigation. Details about the motives and any exchange of words before the incident are still unclear.

To date, according to Tilton police, no one has been charged, according to a statement obtained by WMUR.
