UK sees a shift from avocado to smashed peas on toast

It seems that the UK is turning away from the well-known ‘avocado toast’ in favor of a more sustainable delight: smashed peas. The culinary shift was articulated by chef Emma Kensington, who shared her enthusiasm for the new trend. "We have to be mindful of our food choices, not only for our health but for the planet too. Smashed peas offer an excellent alternative to avocados, which are often sourced from far-flung locations and have a considerable carbon footprint."

Smashed peas are now being incorporated into breakfasts and brunches, replacing avocado as the spread of choice on toast. Food connoisseurs praise their earthy flavor and the reduced environmental impact associated with their production.
