The Harvest Moon company has arrived in Narrandera, in the Riverina region. The company has settled at Glenfyne Farm after 18 months of looking for suitable land in the region, so it could branch out their business into New South Wales.
“We are excited to finally be in the Riverina,” says Compliance Manager Tundra Howe said. “It’s a great part of the country and we believe there is huge potential and scope for our future plans. Having this operation in New South Wales ties in with our existing operations in Victoria and Queensland and increases our ability to produce vegetables 52 weeks a year.”
Harvest Moon is responsible for supplying 90,000 tons of vegetables all around Australia, with farms in Tasmania where they began as well as Victoria, Queensland and now New South Wales.
Originally based in Tasmania, they started branching out into different states little over 10 years ago, and have since created strong bonds with 80 of the best local growers and sell their vegetables to major businesses.
Glenfyne Farm was an attractive prospect for the Harvest Moon group, that will be focusing on the winter production of their main vegetables such as their popular snackable carrots and then moving on to baby spinach. Once these are established they will then look in to other lines such as onions and possibly potatoes.
