The price of some seedless Orah mandarins is about 9 RMB/kg

Orah mandarin enters peak trading period

The Orah mandarin has been one of the fastest developing varieties in Guangxi in recent years, and its development rate is comparable to that of sugar mandarins. This season's Orah mandarin was available as early as mid-November 2021 and is expected to finish around June 2022. Judging from the current transactions, there is still the possibility of growth in the trading volume of Orah mandarin. According to statistics, from November 1, 2021, to January 31, 2022, the trading volume of Orah mandarins increased by 98.07% year-on-year, with an average price of 9.22 RMB/kg, down 0.46% year-on-year.

The price of Orah mandarins before the Spring Festival was basically the same as that of the same period last year, and the transaction volume is increasing rapidly. In February, the volume and price began to fall, with the transaction volume down 3.26% year-on-year, and the average price of 8 RMB/kg, down 13.66% year-on-year.

There are many reasons for the popularity of Orah mandarins. The most important thing is that they are easy to cultivate. In recent years, the trade in Orah mandarins has grown rapidly. Because of its fast maturity and high yield per hectare, most places have expanded production and planting. In addition, it also combines the characteristics of easy peeling, juiciness, fewer pits, and easy storage, which has earned it market popularity.

The Orah mandarin is mainly produced in the Wuming area of Guangxi, China. Although it is also planted in Yunnan, Sichuan, Jiangxi, Zhejiang and other places, the overall market feedback and recognition is not as good as it is in Guangxi. The Orah mandarin is not cold-resistant, so it has a certain temperature requirement. Generally, the minimum temperature cannot be lower than -1°C, so it is more suitable for planting in southern China.

After the Spring Festival, the price is generally around 8 RMB/kg, and the price of the smaller ones is 5-6 RMB/kg, and some good brands can be maintained at 9-9.5 RMB/kg. In addition, there are a small number of seedless ones on the market, and the price is basically around 9 RMB/kg.
