Australia’s leading industry-owned assurance standard for horticulture, Freshcare, has today announced the appointment of Interim CEO, Yvonne Diab, following the departure of recently appointed CEO Benjamin Wash who left the business in December 2019.
“On behalf of the Freshcare board I am pleased to announce the appointment of Yvonne Diab,” said Freshcare Chair Allan Dall.
“The prompt replacement of our previous CEO, who resigned due to personal reasons, ensures Freshcare is equipped and resourced to continue with our commitment to being Australia’s leading Standard for Australian fresh produce.”
The appointment comes as Freshcare prepares to roll-out significant initiatives designed to expand its contribution to improving horticulture across Australia.
“It is critically important that the Freshcare team continues to have strong leadership and support as we deliver on innovative initiatives designed to maintain industry growth and improvement,” Mr Dall said.
Ms Diab joins Freshcare following successful marketing and leadership roles across the not-for-profit sector and member-based organisations including Vision Australia and Tafe.
“I am looking forward to working with the Freshcare team to maintain and grow our position as a leader in Australian horticulture assurance and continuing to deliver exceptional service to our members and participating businesses,” Ms Diab said.
Ms Diab commenced the role on Tuesday January 28, 2020.
