The Minister of Agriculture explained the recent increase in vegetable prices in Kazakhstan

The rise in prices for cabbage, carrots, onions, and potatoes is related to the end of last year's reserves and the arrival of fresh produce in June. The early ripe vegetables are slightly more expensive. The vegetables come from the south and neighboring states.

Erbol Karashukeev also stated that the Ministry of Agriculture is revising its plans to increase the number of vegetable warehouses. Last year, they exceeded the plan for 2021-2022 by 110%. This year, they are increasing the goals and plan to build vegetable warehouses with a capacity of over 100,000 tons. In addition, they are making changes to subsidy rules.

Overall, the Ministry of Agriculture is taking steps to address the rise in vegetable prices and ensure the availability of fresh produce for the population.
