Kyrgyzstan potato and onion exports fall, cabbage rose in 2025

According to the National Statistical Committee, Kyrgyzstan exported a total of 22,743 tonnes of potatoes in January–September 2025, valued at $3.42 million, down from 39,825 tonnes ($5.69 million) in the same period of 2024.

Potato exports by country:

  • Uzbekistan: 19,002 t ($1.78 million) – down from 32,394 t ($3.44 million)
  • Kazakhstan: 2,759 t ($1.06 million) – down from 6,763 t ($1.99 million)
  • Russia: 714 t ($533,000) – up from 644 t ($250,000)
  • Azerbaijan: 268 t ($50,000) – up from 24 t ($3,000)

Cabbage exports rose 9% to 9,616 tonnes ($2.97 million), with key destinations:

  • Uzbekistan: 7,741 t ($2.10 million)
  • China: 1,804 t ($845,000)
  • Tajikistan: 57 t ($16,000)
  • Kazakhstan: 13 t ($3,000)
  • Iran: 2 t ($1,000)

Onion and garlic shipments fell sharply to 4,309 tonnes ($1.73 million) from 21,851 tonnes ($11.13 million) in 2024. Major destinations in 2025:

  • Russia: 1,769 t ($780,000)
  • Uzbekistan: 1,667 t ($308,000)
  • Azerbaijan: 337 t ($171,000)
  • Georgia: 198 t ($136,000)
  • Ukraine: 108 t ($74,000)
