The Almond Board of Australia has confirmed the national almond intake for the 2025 season at 155,697 tons (kernel weight equivalent). The final figure is slightly higher than the pre-harvest estimate of 155,531 tons issued in February, but remains about 7,500 tons below last year's record intake of 163,148 tons and nearly 10% lower than the long-term crop forecast.

Sales for the 2025–26 marketing season remain steady, though September data show mixed results. Shipments to India were down compared to the previous year, while exports to China increased by 4% on a season-to-date basis.
The decline in Indian demand aligns with trends reported in Californian export data and appears to have been influenced by uncertainty following the Indian government's announcement of a change to the Goods and Services Tax (GST) rate on almonds on 22 September.
Overall, Australian almond sales are down 4.6% for the first seven months of the marketing year compared with the same period in 2024, marking the first easing in exports in recent years.
Combined domestic and export shipments for September totalled 17,761 tons, a 25% decrease from the same month in 2024. Despite the decline, this remains the second-highest September sales volume on record.
