This year is a vintage year for Jazz apples

The Jazz apple is back with an expanded offer, a renewed commitment to the Restos du Cœur charity and a revamped communications strategy. With a promising harvest, everything is in place to "make the 2025-2026 campaign a success once again." The first apples are already on the shelves. With a harvest forecast at 16,822 tons, the variety aims to appeal to as many French households as possible. In bulk, trays or bags, the aim is clear: To make the Jazz apple shine on supermarket shelves.

A very promising campaign
The 2025 campaign promises to live up to expectations, if not exceed them! This year, all conditions have been met to produce quality apples. "Mother Nature has been very generous this year. Unlike last season, which was very complicated, we had fine spring conditions that were favorable to pollination, as well as a hot but bearable summer, with limited heatwaves so no impact on the fruit. As for the harvest, it is taking place in good conditions, with temperatures hovering around 4 degrees in the morning, rising to 20 degrees in the afternoon on fine sunny days. The result is a Jazz apple with good color and a high Brix level, revealing its aroma to the fullest. As for volumes, we are back to the potential of a normal season. We are all very excited at the start of this new season, which promises to be a vintage year," explains Benoît Carreau, Jazz producer and member of the Fruitenz collective.

The Jazz apple is currently available from Albafruit, Bluewhale, Domaine de Confoux, Pom'Evasion and Mylord.

A specialist apple
The Jazz apple is difficult to master, but so rewarding for those who grow it. "It is a specialist apple that requires a lot of work in the orchard for the fruit to fully express its aromas. Growers have to know every tree in their orchard. The thinning stage is essential as is the selection of the fruit. It is a very precise job. It has taken us years to master this variety, and today we know how to get the very best out of our Jazz apples. It is a daily challenge but it is the price to pay for an apple that stands out in terms of taste. It is one of those varieties that really make us feel like growers."

New ads for a national campaign
To boost its profile, the brand plans to invest in a national campaign throughout the season, with a brand new radio and TV ad. The campaign aims to raise brand awareness and illustrate the variety's strong commitment to both producers and retailers. The ads will be broadcast on RTL radio from September 27th, and on TF1 TV channel in January.

Another generous year for Restos du Cœur
Jazz apples also continue their initiative launched in 2024-2025, with more than 1 million apples donated to the Restos du Cœur charity. The first year of the partnership was a resounding success, with the target exceeded. The operation was widely supported by retailers, consumers, and has been renewed for the 2025-2026 season. From March 3rd to April 11th, 2026, in order to support Restos du Cœur, one apple will be donated to the charity for every 2 kg of Jazz apples purchased. "We are really delighted with this partnership which gives even more meaning to our work. Last year, we decided to devote our resources to our partnerships and apple donations. We would also like to strengthen our partnership with Restos du cœur, potentially through other actions."
