The Southern Hemisphere Fruit Alliance (SFA) has appointed new leaders for its Working Groups on Statistics and Market Access. The appointments were confirmed during the Alliance's recent general members' meeting at Fruit Attraction in Madrid.
For the Working Group on Statistics, members elected Piero Razeto of the Asociación de Gremios Productores Agrarios del Perú (AGAP), and Conrad Burger and Nina Viljoen of the South African Table Grape Industry (SATI). Their role will include overseeing the development and launch of the Alliance's Statistical Yearbook at Fruit Logistica 2026, as well as improving the association's system for collecting and reporting data on fruit exports and production in the Southern Hemisphere.

For the Working Group on Market Access, Razeto was elected alongside Nomonde Ntloko of Fruit South Africa. This group is tasked with exchanging information and experiences on trade barriers and developing common approaches to improve global market access for Southern Hemisphere fruit.
Other Working Groups will continue under existing leadership. Albert Coetzee and Paul Hardman of the Citrus Growers' Association of Southern Africa (CGA), together with Edwin Córdova of AGAP, will remain responsible for Sustainability, while Deon Joubert of CGA will continue to lead Logistics.
The appointment of new leaders follows the transition of the Southern Hemisphere Association of Fresh Fruit Exporters (SHAFFE) into the Southern Hemisphere Fruit Alliance in September, continuing the work of the 34-year-old advocacy group.
