Globus Markthallen is joining the newly founded European purchasing alliance Concordis via RTG International. Alongside Globus, the European retail companies Carrefour and Coopérative U are also founding members. The alliance aims to strengthen competitiveness in the European food retail sector in the long term.
"With Concordis, we are on an equal footing with the top players in the market," explains Stephanie Lotter, Managing Director of Purchasing/Product Range, Marketing, Quality Assurance, and Private Labels at Globus Markthallen. "In a challenging market environment where many people's purchasing power is under pressure, it is crucial for us to strengthen our position in relation to international brand manufacturers on behalf of our customers."
Globus has been part of RTG (Retail Trade Group), a national purchasing association of medium-sized, family-run retail companies, for several years. By joining the European alliance, Globus is now significantly expanding its strategic reach.
Stronger negotiating position through bundled volume
Within Concordis, the partners bundle their purchasing volumes with selected international brand suppliers. "This not only gives us better framework conditions, but also enables us to invest in innovation and quality – always with the aim of meeting our customers' expectations in the long term," Lotter continues.

For Globus customers, the new partnership means one thing above all: a continued attractive product range with a convincing price-performance ratio. "Our local strength remains clearly in focus – especially our in-house production, such as our specialist butchery, master bakery, and catering," explains Lotter. "Our fruit and vegetable department, fish and cheese counters, and our extensive non-food ranges are also part of this. Thanks to Concordis, we can also ensure that we will continue to offer the classic brand ranges in our Globus market halls at fair prices in the coming years."
