In the first half of 2025, Georgia exported 78,230 tons of potatoes, a 30-fold increase compared to the same period last year, according to the country's National Statistics Office. Export value also rose thirtyfold to $26.5 million.
Russia was the main market, accounting for 50,350 tons (64.3% of total exports) worth $20.5 million (77% of export value). This volume is 3.6 times higher than Georgia's total shipments to Russia in 2024 (14,050 tons).
Azerbaijan ranked second with 20,260 tons ($3.7 million), followed by Armenia with 3,740 tons ($0.9 million) and Belarus with 3,090 tons ($1.3 million).
In 2024, Georgia exported 35,000 tons of potatoes, valued at $7.5 million.
Potato imports to Georgia in the first half of 2025 increased by 22% to 6,100 tons ($2.3 million), with Turkey accounting for 56.5% of the total.
