New fruit and vegetable processing facility launched in Khujand, Tajikistan

On July 13, a new fruit and vegetable processing facility was inaugurated in the city of Khujand, Tajikistan. The enterprise, operated by DoroArtFood LLC, is designed to handle up to 600 tons of raw produce per month, with an annual processing capacity of 7,200 tons.

The facility consists of two modern production lines and processes 28 types of agricultural products, including apples, pears, prunes, lemons, rose hips, onions, carrots, pumpkins, peppers, cabbage, and various herbs. Finished goods are produced under international standards and are primarily intended for export.

The company manufactures more than 50 types of food products, using fruits and vegetables sourced from across the country. The plant is capable of processing harvests from up to 1,000 hectares of farmland, helping to reduce post-harvest losses during the summer and autumn months.

Currently, around 80 residents are employed at the facility, with total staff expected to reach 300 following the completion of the second phase. Monthly wages at the enterprise exceed 4,300 somoni (€378.6).

The second phase of the project includes the construction of a cold storage unit, a fruit and vegetable packaging workshop, and a modern laboratory center. The lab will conduct soil and crop analyses, enabling partner farms to receive science-based recommendations to improve productivity.

The facility uses equipment imported from Italy and China and is equipped to produce food products that meet international market requirements.
