Ukraine’s processing tomato harvest to remain stable despite spring frosts

Despite spring frosts and unfavorable weather across Ukraine, the country's 2025 processing tomato harvest is expected to remain steady at around 550,000 tons, roughly the same as last year, according to the World Processing Tomato Council (WPTC).

All tomato crops were planted on schedule or with only minor delays. Although early plantings were partially damaged by April–May frosts, most fields have recovered well. May rains caused slight transplanting delays, but did not significantly disrupt the growing schedule.

June weather conditions have been typical for the season, with normal levels of weeds and insect activity. Processing is expected to begin in early August.
