Berry prices fall, with gooseberries down 40%

Average market prices for several soft fruits showed significant declines compared to the previous week. Blackberries recorded the most notable weekly drop, falling from £9.70/kg to £6.73/kg, a decrease of £2.97 or 31%. This marks the sharpest decline in percentage terms among the observed fruits.

Blueberries also experienced a decline, though less severe. The average price dropped from £12.40/kg the previous week to £11.31/kg, representing a reduction of £1.09 or 9%. Raspberries followed a similar pattern, with prices decreasing from £11.10/kg to £8.91/kg, a drop of £2.19 or 20%.

Gooseberries saw the largest absolute change, with a weekly decline of £7.24. Prices fell from £18.14/kg to £10.90/kg, equating to a 40% drop. Among the soft fruits listed, this was the steepest reduction in both price and percentage terms, highlighting a notable shift in weekly pricing.
