Data indicates an increase in Egypt's agricultural exports for the period starting at the beginning of the year until the end of May. The export volume surpassed 4.8 million tons, rising from last year's 4.3 million tons within the same timeframe. This information was released in a statement regarding export trends.
The main export categories over these five months included citrus fruits, potatoes, onions, guava, beans, sweet potatoes, grapes, and strawberries. Citrus fruits were at the forefront with exports of over 1.8 million tons. Fresh potatoes followed, with close to 1.1 million tons exported.
Beans, composed of both fresh and dry types, occupied the third position in the export list, reaching 130,000 tons. Onion exports were next, with a total of 106,000 tons. Sweet potatoes were in the fifth position, seeing 101,000 tons exported.
